But i guess i understand where ur coming from in terms of the possible problems i might encounter with this setup. Well, here's what i was thinking with regards to the level of the main tank fluctuating and all, if i made the groves in the overflow box deep enough, it should still work fine if the level drops some.besides, i do plan on building an auto topoff system. You probably only want a small PH in there anyway, I used to run a rio 90 as a feed pump for my fuge, and that was choked down to about half flow. Say the power goes out and the tube you got going from the main tank to the PH get's some air in it, that pump is just not going to start and you'll have to prime it first. PH's don't do well at drawing water, they are best at pushing it. I would make it big enough to house the PH and I would have the PH in the main tank pushing water out to the fuge. You can make one of these out of some plastic. Therefore you should have a surface skimmer device of some kind that is adjustable (or a good auto top off device.) ![]() anyway, this means that a change in water level (through evap) is going to be reflected in the level of the main tank. Which tank is higher ? the main tank or the fuge ? me thinks that the fuge is which is why your going to pump in and syphon out. The prefilter box is the same thing/principal only it has 4 sides instead of 3 and is not glued to the tank. this is not good because you can't adjust the height of the thing. ![]() the box you show in the pics is small and is glued to the tank wall. Think it'll work now?.besides, it's not gonna be possible for me to get my hands on one of those CPR accesories coz i'm way over in Malaysia and we don't get those stuffs here.heck, i'm already gonna be having trouble finding an overflow box.will have to be crafty and see what i can come up with that will essentially function the same way.hopefully looking the same way too. But, all i would need to do is have the intake tube go up and over the tank to the fuge as you have described.yet again, only difference is that my PH would be sitting in the fuge and not in the overflow box. Hey skeletor.i am aware that the picture showed a drilled tank and no my tank is not drilled. Anyone have an idea of how much extra space that takes up? Is that what this box does? I am thinking about buying one. In order to clear up the water surface, you would have to use an overflow type thing where the surface of the water would cascade down into something. Sorry to hijack but i always wondered about these things.ĭoes the water overflow into this container? Because i have a surface skimmer for my Prizm and all it did was suck in water from Near-Surface but didnt suck it from the actual surface so it remained oily. Oh, the sponge thing they show should be taken out. the boc screws to the PH which is held in place by the plastic pipe hanging on the tank edge. ![]() It has one end cut on an angle and that is where the water from the surface enters the box, inside the box is a PH connected to a hard plastic pipe which goes up and over into the fuge. Yes that is an overflow box, but it is used on a drilled tank.
